You have 15 days from purchase to change your mind on an unused item in its original packaging, with proof of purchase. That is our own policy rather than a statutory right, because Australian law gives no cooling-off period for an online purchase. A change of mind return carries a $29 handling charge, you cover the return postage, and the original delivery charge is not refunded. Refunds are processed 24 to 48 hours after we receive the item.
If it arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, we put it right at no cost to you under the consumer guarantees in the Australian Consumer Law, return postage included. Those guarantees cannot be excluded and nothing on this page limits them; where the failure is major the choice between a refund, a replacement and a repair is yours.
Cold water, 30 degrees or below, hand wash or a gentle machine cycle in a mesh bag. Use a detergent with no enzymes and no bleach. Air dry out of direct sun and keep it out of the dryer. Iron on the lowest setting if you iron it at all.

About this product
Every colour we make it in, on one page.
22 momme Grade 6A mulberry silk, 51 cm by 76 cm, hidden zip, eleven colours at one price. Pick a colour and the price and picture change with it.
This is the whole colour range on one page. Each colour also has a page of its own if you would rather read about it there; the pillowcase is the same either way.
100 per cent mulberry silk, Grade 6A long fibre, woven to 22 momme. That is the heaviest weight worth using on a pillowcase: lighter wears through, much heavier stops draping.
51 cm by 76 cm, which fits a standard Australian pillow. It will not fit a king pillow.
It closes with a hidden zip rather than an envelope flap, so the pillow stays put and there is nothing to tuck in at bedtime.
Every colour is the same price. There is no minimum order, so one is fine.
What a silk pillowcase does is reduce friction. Cotton grips hair and skin and drags a little every time you turn over. A silk surface lets both slide. That is a property of the weave rather than a treatment, and it is the honest version of everything else said about silk pillowcases.
Momme is how silk is measured. Silk thread is too fine for a useful thread count, so a standard piece is weighed instead and the weight in pounds is the momme. At 22 this is dense and heavy. Below 19 a pillowcase wears through quickly; much above 22 and you are into furnishing weight.
Grade 6A refers to the length and evenness of the fibre. Long fibre silk is what gives the surface its evenness, and it is the difference between silk that stays smooth and silk that pills at the seam after a year.
Colour changes nothing about the silk. What it changes is how the case lives in the room and how quickly marks show: black and silver hide most, white and light blue show most and can also be treated hardest.
Care is the part people get wrong and it is simple. Cold water, no enzymes, no bleach, no dryer, dried in the shade. Treated that way a 22 momme case lasts years rather than seasons.
Still deciding?
Not sure yet? That is fine.
You can change your mind. You have 15 days from purchase on any unused item in its original packaging. That is our own policy rather than a statutory right, because Australian law gives no cooling-off period for an online purchase, and we would rather say so than imply a right you do not have. A change of mind return carries a $29 handling charge and you cover the return postage.
If it turns up faulty, damaged or not as described, that is on us. The consumer guarantees in the Australian Consumer Law give you a repair, a replacement or your money back, and where the failure is major the choice is yours rather than ours. We pay the return postage and nothing on this page limits any of it. Read the detail on our refunds and returns page, or ask us anything before you order.
Weight, not thread count. Silk thread is too fine to count usefully, so it is weighed instead: momme is the weight in pounds of a 45 inch by 100 yard piece. Our pillowcases, eye mask, bonnet and baby mittens are 22 momme, the silk flat sheet is 19 momme and the women's mulberry pyjama set is 16 momme.
Can a Silk Pillow Slip support cleaner bedding?
The low-lint, low-static surface attracts less fluff and resists build-up, helping your sleep space look fresh between wash days.
How do I wash a Mulberry Silk Pillow Case correctly?
Wash cold (≤30 °C) on gentle with enzyme-free detergent; avoid bleach; air-dry out of direct sun. These simple steps preserve lustre and longevity for years of luxe rest.
Is a Silk Pillow Slip a thoughtful gift?
Indeed, practical luxury used 7 nights a week, loved for skin-friendly, hair-loving benefits and that elegant lustre, a present that keeps delighting.
Does a Mulberry Silk Pillow Case freshen quickly between washes?
Yes, air for 10-15 minutes to lift light odours; a 2-3 minute steam revives the finish for a pristine feel.
Will Pure Silk Pillowcases help with fine lines?
Silk's glide reduces sleep creases that can etch into lines over time. Wake looking smoother and more refreshed.
Do Silk Pillow Slips stay secure overnight?
Quality designs use reliable closures and neat tailoring to stay put, giving you glide for skin and hair without shifting.
Is a Mulberry Silk Pillow Case a smart year-round choice?
Absolutely, cool in summer, pleasantly insulating in cooler months. Enjoy four-season ease with refined comfort.
Is everything on this site actually silk?
No, and the page always says which. The mulberry silk range is 100 per cent silk. The satin range is polyester or a viscose blend woven in a satin weave, which gives a similar glide at a much lower price. Both are on the site on purpose and each product page states its own fabric.
Can a Silk Pillow Slip extend a blow-dry?
Yes, reduced friction preserves shape and shine for longer, meaning fewer heat-tool sessions and healthier ends.
Does a Mulberry Silk Pillow Case look polished on the bed?
The subtle sheen reads luxe without fuss, elevating your setup while delivering nightly comfort for skin and hair.
Are Pure Silk Pillowcases travel-friendly?
Definitely, silk folds slim, weighs only a few hundred grams, and shakes out in minutes. Pack one for consistent beauty sleep anywhere.
Will a Silk Pillow Slip wrinkle less than cotton?
Satin-weave silk resists harsh creasing. Hang for 10-15 minutes and most lines fall out; a brief steam restores that sleek finish.
Is a Mulberry Silk Pillow Case good for side sleepers?
Yes, the low-friction surface reduces compression lines on cheeks and helps prevent tugging at the hairline, supporting smoother mornings.
Do Pure Silk Pillowcases support a mindful night routine?
They do, the cool touch signals wind-down mode in minutes. Pair with tea or journalling for a calmer, more restorative evening.
Can a Silk Pillow Slip help with static?
Yes, silk's smooth face and natural conductivity reduce static build-up, so hair lays sleeker and layers don't cling.
Does a Mulberry Silk Pillow Case feel too slippery?
Quality charmeuse offers silky glide without slide-off drama, buttery, not greasy. It stays put while treating skin and hair kindly.
Are Pure Silk Pillowcases durable for daily use?
Choose Grade 6A silk in 19-22 momme for strength and longevity. With simple care, silk keeps its shape and sheen for years, ready for nightly rotation.
Is a Silk Pillow Slip suitable for sensitive scalps?
Absolutely. The gentle glide reduces pulling on roots and soothes tender spots post-barber or colour, keeping the scalp more comfortable overnight.
Will a Mulberry Silk Pillow Case help retain hair moisture?
Yes, silk's lower absorbency helps natural oils and leave-ins stay in your strands, supporting shine, softness, and healthier ends over time.
Do Pure Silk Pillowcases reduce bedhead?
They do. The sleek surface lets hair glide, limiting kinks and matting. Expect smoother strands and quicker mornings, less fixing, more enjoying.
Is a Silk Pillow Slip easy to care for?
Yes, machine-wash cold (30 °C) on gentle with pH-neutral detergent, then air-dry. A quick 2-3 minute steam revives the lustre for that crisp, hotel-fresh look.
Does a Mulberry Silk Pillow Case help hot sleepers?
Definitely. Silk's thermo-balancing nature manages warmth and vapour, discouraging overheating so you fall asleep faster and stay composed through the night.
How much is delivery?
Free across Australia on orders of $90 or more. Below that the method offered is Express Delivery at $25, which is also available above the threshold as a paid upgrade. Allow 5 to 7 days after a 24 to 48 hour handling time.
Is a Silk Pillow Slip kind to lash or brow extensions?
Yes, the slippery finish reduces drag, helping extensions shed less and last longer. Wake with a sleeker look and fewer snags.
Do your prices include GST?
Yes. Every price shown on this site includes GST, so the figure on the product page is the figure you pay.
Will Pure Silk Pillowcases absorb my skincare?
Less so. Silk is low-absorbency, so moisturisers and overnight masks stay on your face, not your pillow. You wake with more hydration and better product payoff by morning.
Is a Silk Pillow Slip cooler than cotton at night?
Yes, silk's breathable weave and cool-to-touch hand disperse heat and humidity, supporting steadier temperature balance for deeper, more restful sleep, especially for warm sleepers.
Does a Mulberry Silk Pillow Case help reduce frizz?
Absolutely. The low-drag surface cuts snagging, helping curls keep definition and blow-dries last longer. Expect fewer tangles, smoother ends, and an easier AM routine, beauty sleep that actually delivers.
How do I wash silk without ruining it?
Cold water, 30 degrees or below, on a gentle cycle or by hand, with a detergent that has no enzymes and no bleach. Air dry out of direct sun and skip the dryer. A mesh laundry bag is worth using if it goes in the machine.

How to buy a silk pillowcase without buying the wrong thing
5 min readFlair Silk Company
Check the pillow first
This case is 51 cm by 76 cm, the standard Australian pillow size, and almost every pillow sold here is that. If yours is a king, or a contoured memory foam shape, measure before you order. A case stretched over a pillow it was not cut for wears at the seam, and that is the one failure that is not the fabric's fault.
Silk or satin: know which you are buying
Satin is a weave; silk is a fibre. A satin can be woven from silk or from polyester, so the word on its own tells you nothing about the material. This page is silk. The Satin Silk Pillowcase on this site is a satin weave in 100 per cent polyester, glides in much the same way, and costs a good deal less. Both are worth owning. They are priced and described separately here on purpose.
The number that matters is momme
Momme is a weight, not a thread count. Silk thread is too fine to count usefully, so a standard piece is weighed. 22 momme is what we use for pillowcases: 19 is perfectly good and wears through sooner, and anything much heavier starts behaving like curtain silk.
Grade tells you about the fibre, not the finish
6A is the long fibre grade. It is what keeps the surface even, and it is the difference between a case that is still smooth in year three and one that pills along the seam in year one.
Pick the colour for the room, not for the silk
Every colour here is the identical fabric at the identical price. What changes is how it lives: black and silver forgive marks between washes, white and light blue show them soonest and can also take a silk-safe stain treatment that a dyed case cannot.
Wash it the boring way
Cold water, 30 degrees or below, hand wash or a gentle machine cycle in a mesh bag. Use a detergent with no enzymes and no bleach. Air dry out of direct sun and keep it out of the dryer. Iron on the lowest setting if you iron it at all.
What it will not do
It will not change how your skin ages and it will not repair hair that is breaking for another reason. It takes the drag out of the surface your face and hair spend a third of the day against. That is worth having on its own.
Tell us what you want it to do and how you do laundry, and we will tell you whether the silk or the satin is the better spend. Free delivery across Australia on orders over $90.
